1. You are going for a walk. After you've walked a little way, you come to a forest. Describe the forest ...
It's light and sunny at the outskirts, but if you go in further, it gets darker. There are all kinds of birds singing, and the noise deer make walking through the woods. There are all kinds of trees, but mainly pines.
2. You walk into the forest, and find a path. Describe the path ...
It's thickly covered with pine needles and leaves, making it really comfortable to walk on. The path is wide enough to have a second person walk next to me if I wanted to go there with somebody else.
3. As you walk along the path, you find a key. Describe the key ... What do you do with the key...?
A small, silver key, rather heavy. Like a key to an old jewelry box or something. I pick it up and put it in my pocket. YOu never know what you can use it for.
4. You continue walking along the path. You find a cup. Describe the cup... What do you do with the cup...?
A metal mug like campers would take on a trip. I pick it up and set it on a tree trunk, so the person who lost it can come back and get it. If I had a backpack, I'd take it with me, because I don't like to have stuff lie around in the forest.
5. You continue your journey, and you come to some water. Describe the water... How do you get to the other side of the water...?
There's a lake. Not particularly large, but rather deep. There aren't any ducks or swans on it, and no fish in sight either. The water seems clear. No algae in there. I go around the lake.
6. You've been walking for a while. As you continue, the path divides: One branch goes uphill, and is twisted, narrow, and rocky; the other branch slopes downhill, and is wide and smooth. Which way do you go...? Why...?
The narrow one. It looks more promising, and everybody who reads fairy tales knows that the comfortable paths never lead anywhere interesting.
7. Next, you come to a field. Describe the field... How do you get to the other side of the field...?
It has not been used this year. There is some wheat growing, left over from last year, but mostly it is covered with weeds. I go right through it, picking some flowers and looking for rabbits.
8. On the other side of the field is a wall. Describe the wall... How do you get to the other side of the wall...?
It's built with old, grey stones, much higher than I am tall, and covered with vines. They must have been growing for several decades, as many branches are really thick. As the wall seems to be very long, I climb over it using the vines and spaces between the stones to place my hands and feet.
9. What is beyond the wall...?
A small cottage. All set up for two people to live there, but also comfortable for one person alone. No other sign of civilization anywhere around.
So there are my answers. I'm not a psychologist, I don't know what it means.

Help with the analysis:
Birds, deer, trees.. average forest, average life?. Nothing scary, but nothing terribly exciting or out of the ordinary.
Your path in life is comfortable, and you have room for another to walk beside you but no one is walking there.
Your key is your views on education, and yours opens a type of treasure chest, and you keep it with you (so it's important enough to take), and could be of use for many things in your mind.
Your cup is religion, and is probably slightly skewed due to the forest imagry. But you still leave it as it belongs to someone else, not you, and you don't have the ability to carry its excess weight with you (as you have no backpack for whatever reason your mind decided).
Water is sex. Yours is a lake, not wide but deep and clear, without any animals in it or algae. You go around it though, so you either are somewhat avoidant of sexual matters or you just didn't want to get wet in your mind. ;)
Uphill path is rocky and the harder path in later life. So does the harder way in life lead to more interesting places?
Your field of middle age is typical of many who responded, but leftovers and weeds might be seen as some negatives. It's not pristine, in a way, so it's not a perfect thing but it's not a scary field, it's not rocks and brambles ready to attack and harm.
Your wall is old, gray stone. Tombstone gray, maybe? Old vines as well, what do you think vines represent? They assist you in climbing over the wall of death, though, so maybe something significant.
Beyond the wall is the afterlife, and your cottage set up for two but one can live there as well can mean a few things. No other sign of civilization around means isolation for many, but can also be a peaceful rest from the rat race to many as well.
That was incredibly helpful...
Date: 2004-08-04 03:27 am (UTC)Yeah, I know I'm crazy *ggg*
It is incredible how much can be read out of these answers. And it's true, too. You had me at the water thing, then I was sure it was correct.
But I'm still thinking about the vines. I do consider myself to be a religious person, so maybe they represent religion as a way to overcome fear of dying. A wall with vines looks much less threatening than a wall without them.

Date: 2004-08-04 03:41 am (UTC)Ich studiere Deutsch im Uni.
(I don't know if it's "im" or not, I never remember that, I've only had a few months of German, but I have another semster starting in a month.)
:)
Pretty good...
Date: 2004-08-04 04:06 am (UTC)It would be "in der Uni", as Universität is feminine, while "im" is short for "in dem", and "dem" is the accusative of "der", which is the masculine article.
Gaah, starting to give grammar lessons...
Re: Pretty good...
Date: 2004-08-04 04:21 am (UTC)I don't mind the grammar lessons for basic things. I'm only just at the Kindergarten level, basically. Alphabet, counting, ich heiße Amokk, etc. ;0

There it is, a perfectly correct German word right there. And you've known it forever. *g*
BTW, I added you to my friends list.

Date: 2004-08-04 05:12 am (UTC)And now I get annoyed when people use Angst with the English definition, or add uber to everything to mean "super"-whatever (ubergeek being super geek, for an example I've used myself).
I think I'll add you back. :)
Kinder diese Tage. ;)
