Sick doggie

Oct. 5th, 2004 11:19 am
Something's wrong with our dog. She's had trouble walking recently, but we thought she was just acting. There wasn't anything we could see or feel, and she's done that before, limping so we won't take her for long walks.
But this morning, one leg is swollen and hot. We've put icepacks on it and a stocking to keep them in place, but she keeps pulling off the sock. So I am wandering back and forth between her in the kitchen and the study to change the icepacks and put the stocking back on.
Apart from the leg, she seems to be fine. But I am still worried about what could be wrong.
She usually is in pretty good health since we have taken care of the ear thing.
If it isn't better tomorrow, I'm sure Mom will go to the vet's with her.

Something completely else: My list of stories I want to keep track of is getting longer and longer. And that from the person who didn't want to start reading unfinished stories.
There's Wandless Magic by Deeble and Getting the hang of Thursdays by Hayseed on Ashwinder, and [livejournal.com profile] shadowycat's Truth beyond memory on Occlumency, and who knows how many more will come. And I haven't even looked into the Pureblood archives yet.
All things considered, it's good that I don't have much to do these days. Once I start working, I need to be very careful not to waste time away on the internet when I should be working, or I'll lose a job as quickly as I got it.
OK, this is probably spoiling the competition, but [livejournal.com profile] shadesong has recently put up this question about what is the most quotable movie of all times.
There's a Labyrinth thread in there, too, and I've gone and put in a few quotes for that.
You know that movie is quotable in it's entirety.
I always find myself saying things like "I wouldn't go either way" or "What a pity".

Even though Star Wars is looking good in there, too, and Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and Princess Bride (which I don't think I have seen, so I can't tell how good it is).
Anyway, if you're into movie quotse, I think there are something like three pages of comments full of quotes. And add some more Labyrinth quotes while you're there, will you?

There's also a vote for Dogma, and I've added three quotes to that. Needed to translate them from German to English, so they aren't perfect, but I still wanted to put them down. How strange they're all by Alan Rickman...ahem.
Go here and read for a good laugh, then add a line from your favorite movie yourself, replacing one word with "pants"
Found it by way of [livejournal.com profile] wolflady26's journal.

Sidenote: I am so used to writing html code now, even if I write stories in word I'll add html tags if I want something in italics.
I know that movie! Of course I do. I have seen it several times, I think.
But I actually had to google that line and get a summary of the movie. Read the first line of that summary and was going like "Duh, how stupid can you be?"
But I definitely need to see it again, and in English. Have I said how much I love the fact that most DVDs have both the original and the German version?
Now I just need to get that one and find the time to watch it.
