First things first: tuva made a doll for me!!

This is a wonderful present, especially as it isn't even my birthday or anything. :-)

Another good thing that happened today: I went to the bookstore and got all five Harry Potters in English. I went to the bank first to check whether the money for the translations had been transferred, it hadn't, but I went and got the books anyway. There isn't much I need to buy anytime soon, so I should be alright. I had gotten through PoA in German again already, so I started with Goblet of Fire. HP 4 and 5 are a little thick for paperbacks, I'm not sure how long the binding will last, but better than nothing. I'll just need to be a little careful.

Did I mention that I got a beautiful doll from tuva?

I went to the gym, but the course I wanted to go to didn't take place because I was the only one there. Oh well, probably next week.

Unemployment makes me cranky. I get angry really quickly, especially when my parents make supposedly funny remarks about me not doing anything during the day. I hate this situation I'm in right now. I can't plan ahead because I don't f**king know where I'm going to be next week. It drives me crazy and the last thing I need is have my Mom joke about it and my Dad get angry at me for doing nothing but reading books ore being on the computer. My Dad has no idea about how this feels. He never was unemployed a day in his life, because after studying he worked for the university, and after reunification he got the job he has now. I don't really know about my Mom. She decided to stay home with the kids back when she was pregnant with my sister, but as far as I know she always planned on going back to work once the kids were old enough. But after reunification, there wasn't a job available for her, and as she'll turn fifty this year chances are almost down to 0 now that she'll ever find something. I suppose that is why she started all this volunteer thing for the church and the town. But I can't do that because a commitment for a week doesn't do any good, and I can't plan further ahead. Damn.

But coming home today, I found that tuva has made me a doll!
Yes, I'm repeating myself. So what, I'm happy!

HP 4 and 5 are a little thick for paperbacks - You got book 5 in paperback? Is that even possible? I wouldn't think so! I have the first 4 English ones in paperback, only because the bookstore didn't stock them in hardback, but they only had book 5 in hardback. Gosh, the book is 760 pages, I imagine that a paperback version would break into pieces in no time! But don't worry about the others, I've treated mine quite rough and read them 8 times, and they're still in one piece! ;)

In my bookstore, they didn't even have the hardcovers for 4 and 5.
I usually try to get everything in paperback, because it's so much cheaper, but I wsa a little worried about it being so thick. They are printed on really thin paper and book four and five are still around six centimeters thick, I think. But if you say your copies are still in one piece, I hope mine will last, too. :-)

I usually do that too, but I'm thinking about buying the Harry Potter books in English in hardback. The Norwegia ones I have are in hardback, and I guess I'm going to read these books quite a few times during my lifetime, and it would be nice to have them in one piece in a few years...
