Waaaah!

I just received my first birthday present of the year!

It's from [livejournal.com profile] wolflady26 and her husband, but I can't open it yet because there are still ten more days until it is my birthday, so opening it now would be cheating.

Argh!

I actually love the days before a birthday, when you start wondering what you might get, and how the day might be, and all that.

I'm going to be home alone, most likely, though maybe the minion will be coming by for cake.
And in the evening, I hope to finally manage to go see "Don Giovanni". Yay!

Yes, I'm evil. Ahh, the tantalizing thrill of a present you can't open!

I should have known you did it on purpose!

Well... that and I didn't want to forget until I was away! I have a terrible tendency to want to do things for holidays on the day of the holiday itself.

Well, it will all be in my hands, as I am the one who has to bake the cake...

Baking your own cake? That sounds like work (unless you like baking cakes). If I could I'd buy you a good cake from a good bakery. Well, I suppose I *could* but it might not be too fresh when it arives.

It will likely be a cake-mix... *g*
It will be my first try at baking something in this oven, my mom's is different. I'm not sure yet how it will turn out, but we'll see.

Aww, thanks! It's the thought that counts. (It has much less calories, too!)

Nothing wrong with a cake mix, usually they turn out some good cakes. IMHO it takes a really good baker to top some of the cake mixes that are out there.

Definitely. I'm going to go shopping this weekend and maybe try several, as I also will have to bring a cake with me to work the week after my birthday.

Does all this cake baking make you the Königinkuchen? (I doubt that's a word, but I tried)

I don't think it would make me the queencake (I think you were going for Kuchenkönigin - cake queen. ;-D That might very well be a word), but I hope my friends at work will still like the results of my endeavours.

Damn! My first instinct was to put the Kuchen first, but someting (I don't know what (Perhaps something I read in a book on Middle Egyptian)) made me switch them around at the last minute. Oh well at least I learned something.
