I was nervous as hell when I got into the car to pick up Alexander from the station. After all, I think it only acts up when it's cold and wet, and it has been raining for the last few days and it is getting really cold.
But surprise surprise - no problems at all.
This is just totally weird.
I'm still going to take it to the garage today. And I likely will not take the car to Hammelburg on Sunday, unless the people at the garage tell me immediately "oh, it must be this and that" and fix it. After all, the guys at the repair place last Christmas basically said tehy replaced a few parts that might have caused the problems, but they don't really have any idea. I must say that is not what I want to hear from so-called experts, no thanks.
Phillis woke me up only twice this night. Okay, I did go to bed around midnight, so it isn't as if there was much of a night left. But she woke me up after almost three hours of undisturbed sleep, and then again three hours later. And then, even though six-ish is her usual breakfast time, she let me sleep for another hour. Good doggy!
Of course, when I left her in the kennel after breakfast to be able to take a shower without her trying to break down the door, she howled and whined for an hour straight. It was hard finding a moment when she was quiet to rescue her. But if I just let her go whenever, she'll learn that whining helps you get what you want, and I don't want that.
I waited all day yesterday for the transport box for Phillis that mom had ordered. They had said they'd come between ten and three. At half past three, the driver called me to tell me he wouldn't make it anymore and would come Friday.
But of course this meant I didn't get to buy a birthday present for Alexander. I got him a huge bar of chocolate on the station yesterday, but the history section of the bookstore at the station was limited to Third Reich, and I was looking for something more like Ancient History. So he'll only get the books my Mom got for him today. When I go into town anyway, I'll go to a bookstore first and buy him a gift.
And I get to walk home from the garage - about half an hour in the freezing cold. Hopefully it'll stay as sunny as it is right now.
But whatever I do, I can only do it when Alexander is awake so he can take care of the dog while I'm gone.
So until then, I can sit around and bore myself to death.

See, this is what you get when I'm bored.
