I don't know whether it's the same melody in the original, but this here *points down* is the German version of the title song with a - rather different video.

it must make you feel safe at night to know you are guarded by the "Nations Finest". We have had a few Military Marijuana scandals down here too. But its lovely to see them happy !

Boys, when bored, get the weirdest ideas.

Our latest scandal - after a bunch of soldiers playing with Russian skulls in Afghanistan - was a guy giving machine gun instructions and telling the soldier he was training to imagine that he was in the Bronx, and a blak van stopped in front of him, with three African Americans (he actually used those words, which always cracks me up considering what he said then) getting out and insulting his mother badly. Then he told the soldier to shot them and yell "Motherfucker" before each volley. And the kid did.
Video is on youtube, I think if you search for "Bundeswehr" and "Motherfucker" you can find it.

Oh, and needless to say, the instructor and his friend who shot the video both no longer wear the uniform.

Oh, and as to being guarded: we say we're besieged by friends, so we don't really need to be guarded.
And the nation's finest are East Germans who know they can't get a job elsewhere and immigrants from Eastern Europe (I don't have anything agaist them. According to my officer friends, they're great at following orders, you just can't expect them to think for themselves, which actually is one of the main ideas of the German military - to have people think for themselves so that if something bad happens, they can't excuse themselves by claiming they were "just following orders".)

Of course I remember the Gummi bears... gee, it's been a long time (about 10 years, I have to get those videos out) but, yeah...
It is the same song btw; I've got the english version if you want it (though I don't know how to upload it), and probably the dutch one as well.
I do like this vid, but I'm a sucker for anything to do with kid's tv -like the gummi bears- regardless ^_^

:-) I used to love the gummi bears. Especially all the names the little guy - Toadwart? - gave his master.

I watched it in German, of course, but I assume it would have been similar in English.

Same with me, only in dutch...
and if the dutch one is the same, I suppose the German one would be too..

I always loved Cubbi (smallest bear), but I guess I had a thing for little red guys - pho from the telletubies used to be my favorite as well ^.^

And I looked up my videos last night; they have 7 stories on them *yay* something like "the red revenger" "who sneezes, who loses" and "the king's gold" I just have to watch them again
