I've decided to treat myself to some books on writing this year.

So, what should I get?
I've heard of Strunk & White, and I also want to get a larger English-German dictionary as well as a thesaurus - I grope for synonyms so often, that's definitely necessary.

What would you suggest, which titles would you recommend, what would you avoid?

Does anyone have a good suggestion about British and American dialects and slang?
I know that's tricky, as colloquial language changes so fast, but it'd still be much appreciated.
Has anyone of the artists out there heard of Eyefeather.com? The artist, Bronwyn Frazier, also has an LJ account under that same name.
I tumbled across an ebay auction where she sells a pendant like Jareth's in Labyrinth. It looks cool, but I've never bought on ebay before, so I'm not sure.

I browsed through the website a bit and have to admit that apart from the pendant, the only thing I'd buy would be the matching belt.

Quite honestly, the masks didn't impress me much, but then if I go and buy a mask, it'd likely be something from here.

I believe [livejournal.com profile] dearlady also made a Jareth pendant once, but IIRC it was a one of a kind, at least I don't see it on The Copper Dragon (where I do see, however, a large amount of lovely jewelry I'd love to have. Or a dragon. Or a feather quill - jeez, just look at the Hyacinth Dragon Quills!)

ETA: It took me three tries to get this entry spelled halfway correctly.
I'm going to leave it as it is now, any further errors have to stay.
