Okay, now I know it is not a figment of my imagination. The people here are horrendously unfriendly. If you are nice to them for a while they might manage to smile or at least treat you in a way that makes their civility not seem like something they do only to not get fired. But usually, you are the intrudor on their time, even if you buy stuff from them.
And that is something I absolutely hate.
Actually, there is only one person where I accept that. It's the guy who sells very tasty crèpes on the road. And that is not so much because of the crèpes but because he is so damn sexy. :-P
TO travel first class in the ICE really is a great way to travel. Much more room and so nice. Only when I entered the train I think I lowered the average age in that compartment significantly. So many businessmen more in their fourties and fifties, I really stuck out with my discman and "Leipzig 2012" sweatshirt.
I sorted through my stories on the train. I have an incredible amount of stories I started, drabbles that never became more than outlines of stories, or worse still, only beginnings without ends or even a real plot.
Oh, I am in Bonn again for three days. Another course, but this one is already proving to be a dead bore. We're doing special RAK rules (RAK is the German version of AACR, for those librarians - cataloging rules for all others. ;-D), and I remember all that from uni. My teachers were really, really thorough. While others haven't been doing this for quite some time and need to remember what they learned some time ago.
Also, I always found cataloging the most boring job of all in a library. I came here because I hoped we would do some special stuff like how to correctly catalog DVDs in our computer system, but I doubt we'll ever get there. Oh well, it cannot be helped.
But last time I was here, I discovered a Chinese shop that sold the most beautiful silk blouses. Only they were 60 Euros for the one I liked. I pondered whether or not to do it and today decided what the heck and went and bought it. It's red with stitching in the same color and a gold band on the hem. And now for the really cool part: I told Mom about it and she said she'd give the money back to me if I was going to wear it on her birthday party. *happydance*
Love my Mom. Which reminds me I need to pay a considerable share of last month's giant telephone bill. Goint to be interesting when I have a computer myself. I guess it will be a flatrate for me, likely will come cheaper.
And as I am in Bonn and in the internet café that is next to the CD store, I am now the proud owner of David Bowie's "Tonight" in the digitally remastered version. I listened to a bit of Nine Inch Nails as well, but I am cheap (yeah right) and that CD was simply too expensive right now. MAy come back to it later or ask some of the guys in Hammelburg whether they have it and can copy. No, of course I won't do that. It would infringe copyright laws, and we all know we won't do that. *ahem*
Anyway, another confused and confusing post from me, enjoy.
*hugs the flist*
