Birthday!

Mar. 10th, 2005 12:58 pm
Come on you Americans! Wake up and congratulate me!!

Ahem. Sorry.

I got a red rose and a set of two beautiful pens from Marco. Katrin and Renate (coworkers) gave me two different sorts of tea.
My mom sent me flowers!

And my boss said I could have half a day off, so I am going to take tomorrow off and drive home earlier.

Woot!!!

And thank you, [livejournal.com profile] rev_tobias for being the first to congratulate. (especially after I must have been the last on your birthday.)
Strange, maybe, as I spent it at work.
But there were so many people who congratulated me.
Everybody at work, the guys from the post office (who knew because my Mom had sent me flowers), all you LJ guys (including newly friended [livejournal.com profile] lucie_p), my parents, my Grandma, my aunt, my brother (who just called now).
And this is just something I am not really used to. Okay, I wasn't disliked as much in university as I was in school, but then school set a pretty high standard of loathing. (And this was by no means only them hating me, I was feeling just the same.)
But even during library studies, it was more like "We know it's her birthday and now we have to say something or it would seem impolite".
Now, I feel like people are congratulating me because they want to, and they really mean it.

Pathetic, I know. But I can't help it, I feel almost overwhelmed by it. I guess it'll take some adjusting.

Anyway, Thanks everybody for making my birthday such a wonderful, fantastic day. And my Jareth icon applies to you all. You rock!

ETA: and now I am going to treat myself to a birthday dinner. I am hungry, as my lunch consisted of leftovers. The kitchen apparently miscalculated the number of people who were going to eat there, so by 11:45 there was nothing much left.
