Phew...

Sometimes I have more luck than I deserve.
This morning, after feeding the dog (which was the reason I had to get up as early as 7 o'clock in the first place) I decided to catch up with all the work I should have done earlier. I did the dishes and started doing the laudry. As my brother came home for the weekend and brought his stuff, I did that first. These uniforms take ages to dry, and as long as it is a sunny day I don't want to put them into the dryer. So anyway, I started the washing machine and went to check my emails. After about 30 minutes or so I went back and found out I had set the temperature too high. I turned it down, but I still felt awful. Just imagine my brother running around in pants and shirt too short.
I took the stuff out of the machine a minute ago, and the uniform looks alright, as does the sports dress. But a towel was in there too, and that definitely did shrink. But that was a "civilian" towel, so it isn't that bad. Just something I'l need to explain to my Mom when she comes back tomorrow.
But this is so typical! I have been doing the laundry for ages now, and never did anything that stupid. Just when there is a real danger of messing up big time, I jump right at it...
I don't believe this discussion about a Mozart opera played in Berlin actually reached America, even making it into the NY Times.
Interesting to see that this paper sees the whole thing rather positive. In a German review I read, not only the production but also the singers received a lot of bad critizism.
