thoughts at the end of the week
I thought I felt bad yesterday, but no. Today is the day. I am sick and tired and sore and don't feel like doing anything.
I woke up this morning to the beautiful sound of hammering outside. Soem guys were building a fence. Al they did was attach one large board to two poles and a slat on the ground, there is no way this needs to take four hours of hammering.
It really did. They got me out of bed around eight, and when I went to get the mail after twelve, they were still working at it. And considering that at least some of the people were drunk, I wonder whether the fence will even last longer than it took to build it.
I just got a message on my cell phone from somebody I don't know. It could be that "Michael", whoever he is, just typed the wrong number. But it is a way of getting kids to write tons of messages by sending them one supposedly misdirected, and engage them in a long conversation. Which wouldn't work with me that well anyway as I am not very fast spelling words on my cell phone.
Looking for things to use as new icons, I started thinking about actually postig a picture of myself. I am kind of reluctant, though. There isn't really a photo of myself that I like, and I'm not that impressive a sight that you all will be unable to live without it. And I am not completely comfortable with having a picture of me out in the internet. Maybe friends only, but I'm not quite sure.
Silly, really. Some of you know my real name and address, what harm yould a picture do. Also, it is nice to have a picture to add to a name of a person ou deal with. But then there is this whole judging from appearances I hate, and without a picture, that's not going to happen. And I consider it one of the greatest assets of the internet that we are forced to judge from more than just looks.
I'm going to think about it some more. Feel free to tell me your opinion.

On Tuesday, I watched "Charlie's Angels 2". I think they had a lot of fun making that movie. OK, the story is rather silly, there isn't that much of a story to begin with. And it is all highly unbelievable, but it's fun. I kep seeing references to "Grease",but that could be just because I have seen the movie something like 10 times (including in French) and have seen the musical, too. But there is this racing scene in both movies, and then the name of the highschool of Cameron Diaz' bofriend is Rydell, which is the name of the "Grease" highschool. Maybe that is a typical name for movie highschools, because there is no real highschool with that name. But to me it still looked like a reference to "Grease". So I had to watch that yesterday. So much fun.

My brother is coming home today to get his clothes washed. He needs to be back on the base tomorrow because he's got guard duties. Silly, really. Many regular bases are guarded by private security companies, why do they bother to teach the kids who are there only nine months about guard duties?
Speak of the devil - he just called to tell me when he's going to arrive (my brother, that is, not the devil.) Good, so I can get my schedule for the day straightened out. I need to do some shopping, and can do that on my way to the station.
So this is just some stuff I had on my mind right now. Now I'm going to take break and get something for lunch.
